John Pixley Clement: Personal Impressions of the Great War (1914 - 1919)
John Clement was an of'ficer of artillery in France in 1918. This quarterly publishes his journal entries from the war. It gives a little background on Clement in the foreword in which we learn that he helped start the Rutland Fire Clay company. In his journal, he goes on to describe what the war was like, and who he met and lost. He describes the living-conditions he faced, and remarks that he was so poor that he could not buy "fire." He also includes many pieces of his artwork from the World War I.
